Beautiful Losers

This will be good...

"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men'

Willy Wonka is responsible for that quote among many others. When I was still at Primary school a confectioner named after the chocolate factory owner made a sour breakthrough true to his spirit of invention. Do you remember these?...

I think about these often. Only one shop I knew of sold them and it was off the beaten track so they required a pilgrimage. They were basically a large egg shaped gobstopper which changed colour. There was a sour layer then respite and then another and so on. The middle was in my memory the sourest and most delicious thing ever. The box was sick too...

The shop I went to in search of these was also funnily enough my Toffee Crumble vendor. I hope this has jogged a memory for at least one of you. This post was inspired by one of Rob's Cola Mentos'.

“Humor is mankind's greatest blessing.”

So said Mark Twain the man responsible for my brother's name. With a wait until September for How I Met Your Mother season 5 to air I have been looking elsewhere. I hope these will be of some help...

Rob thought Jaynesy would appreciate this..

We've been educating ourselves about cloud types. No doubt I'll have forgotten the info come next time I'm asked. Enjoy your weekend.

Best...

...ice cream ever...

My eyes have developed a kind of toffee crumble radar. I thoroughly enjoyed one yesterday.

"I like baseball...

...movies,good clothes, fast cars... and you. What else do you need to know?" I saw this tonight..

Tied to historical fact surrounding the bank jobs of John Dillinger and crew during the Great Depression Michael Mann as always made a very stylish film. Johnny Depp and Christian Bale play similar roles to De Niro and Pacino's characters in Heat which I think is Mann's masterpiece. This lacked the quick fire dialogue Heat is memorable for but retained the same suspense and atmosphere. Enjoy Depp's portrayal of a lovable rogue whose jail breaks made him a folk hero seeing as the public eye had no sympathy for the banks he robbed who had plunged them into the Depression in the first place. Keep a keen eye out for Claire from Lost and Herc from the Wire too.

Good news

was received today. The sitcom I have been babbling about of late called How I Met Your Mother has been guaranteed a fifth series. More humour like this is on it's way...

I'm pleased this is the case because I worked my way through all those episodes very quickly and reached the end of season four needing some closure. This arrived in my inbox this morning...

Juliet and co have organised a night for your entertainment this Thursday. I have heard there will be free food, giveaways and Hops is DJing. I'm going to duck back out into the sun now. See you tomorrow
